Interra Cares Foundation Top Priorities

  1. A mission of financial wellbeing. Dedicated to empowering the lives of our members and the communities in the 24 counties that Interra Credit Union serves through financial inclusion initiatives.
  2. Focus on capital campaigns. The structure of the Interra Cares Foundation is set up to provide multi-year funding for capital projects of community-based social service agencies
  3. Not-for-profit Support. The Foundation provides financial support to 501(c)3 organization that align with our core values and mission.

Who operates the Interra Cares Foundation?

The Interra Cares Foundation is a separate, independent legal entity from Interra Credit Union. It is registered in the state of Indiana as a 501c3 not-for-profit corporation with the IRS. It is operated by a Board of Directors comprised of Interra members and community leaders.

Who are the decision makers for Interra Cares Foundation?

The Interra Cares Foundation’s Board makes all decisions on the behalf of the Foundation, including the selection of funding recipients.

How is the Interra Cares Foundation funded?

Initial funding for the Interra Cares Foundation was established by corporate giving by Interra Credit Union. The credit union itself has a vision statement of Do Well To Do Good™. Because of this, support of the Interra Cares Foundation is viable. Plus, every new credit union member contributes $5 to the Foundation at the time of membership, while the credit union annually contributes $1 per member. These funds plus earned grants, are used to carry out our philanthropic activities.

No, the Interra Cares Foundation’s expenditures are made independently from the operations of Interra Credit Union.

The Interra Cares Foundation gives grants to non-profits and organizations with missions that align with our own, are capital requests, and are not politically driven.
